This is my attempt to keep everything organized. Any updated and progress reports will be added to this first post. Hopefully, this will keep things from getting too messy.

Sonic Transitions is a side project of mine. With this game's story mode, I hope to create a bridge between the ending of Sonic SatAM and the beginning of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Introducing the new and improved Homing Bash!
While curled up in the air, press and hold the Jump button near an enemy, press and hold the direction you would like to go, and release the Jump button to dash away!
Tested with an Xbox 360 controller.

Please note: if you are using GlovePie or a similar controller mapping program, make sure you choose to not use the detected controller. It may seem counter-intuitive, but a remapped controller is, as far as the game is concerned, a keyboard.
Move: Left Joystick and D-Pad
Jump: A, X, or B
Crouch: Down
Look Up: Up
Shoot: X or B
Move: Arrows
Jump: A, S, D, Z, X, or C
Crouch: Down Arrow
Look Up: Up Arrow
Shoot: S, D, X, or C

Spin Dash: Crouch + Jump.
Super Peelout: Look Up + Jump.
Homing Attack: While curled up in the air, tap the Jump button near an enemy.
Homing Bash: While curled up in the air, press and hold the Jump button near an enemy, press and hold the direction you would like to go, and release the Jump button to dash away!

Look Up + Jump.
Roll: Press the Down button while moving.
Energy Shot: Press the Shoot button to fire a jolt of energy from Nicole!
Shot Boost: Hold down and press the Shoot button to get a little extra air time!

I know, long time no update, but with SAGE around the corner, I figured it was time to try and get back to this project.

There is no new content in version 0.2.7, but performance should be drastically improved!
All it took was cleaning up a lot of messy, messy code...

As always, let me know if there are any issues with the demo!

Just got back form playing the demo and I gotta say, it's very interesting and is a good start, but it could still use some work. The ground tiles' colours look a lil dull and could use more contrast and the zone itself could use some more decorations like bushes and flowers for example. Some of the features in here are really unique and I like them, like the invincibility ring for example.
Overall, I'd give it a 6/10 myself. It's a good concept and it has potential in my eyes.

Also a quick suggestion: Maybe for each zone there is, the prices in the shop become different and higher-priced, but at the same time, you keep most of the shards you collect in previous zones. What do you think?

That is actually a feature already in the game. I just didn't see the point in including it in a one-stage demo. Maybe in the next one...

This game is pretty good. I had some frame rate issues, but thats probably just because of my computer. When the game is finished, will other characters like sally acorn and bunny rabbot be playable?

Sorry to hear you had framerate issues.. If you’re sure it’s your computer there’s not much I can do, but I’ll double check the game to be certain.

At this time the only planned playable character is Sonic, but the game is far from finished so that might change...

If I were to make a suggestion, maybe some of the Freedom Fighters can escort Sonic in certain zones.

So... long time no update. I planned to have something more presentable weeks ago that I could enter into SAGE. That obviously didn't happen.

I'll try to push updates more frequently on this.

Most changes in this version are under the hood. Fixed a few bugs, reduced the file size some, cleared some lag, made the swinging platforms less jittery... The only notable additions are the Zone 1 boss and the Stage Select screen.

The new download link has been added to the top, but I'll put it here for good measure.

The second demo of the game looks really nice. The stages are vibrant and fun to run through, the Sonic sprite is a nice blend between the SatAM cartoon and the 16-bit games, and the music is pretty nice.

I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I’m rather fond of this particular Sonic sprite set. Full credit to the talented UnstoppableThombo for it.

The music is thanks to the skills of SoundOfAShadow, DeepBoss, and TheBlad768.

I don't this you should call impossible mode... well impossible mode. (also i beat this with the drop dash :v)

its very good! level design is pretty good though even if there's difficulty modes, it fells lacking in replay-ability.
