Hey all,

I'm looking for a super easy-to-use orchestral soundfont pack that I can basically just drop over existing MIDI tracks and know it will all sound better, lol.

I've tried many, many sound fonts in the past that are claimed to be "higher quality" than General MIDI, but they too often come out sounding quiet, airy, and lacking in depth. I'm hoping someone has some decent suggestions. I am willing to spend money if necessary.

Thanks!

There are a few soundfont libraries I use, and of them my favourite is Timbres of Heaven http://midkar.com/soundfonts/

The others are:
- Compifont (that I see has a new version that I should check) https://pphidden.wixsite.com/compifont/
- FluidR3 https://member.keymusician.com/Member/FluidR3_GM/index.html
- SGM-V2.01 https://archive.org/details/SGM-V2.01

If you want them to sound more megadrive-y there is Ultimate Mega Drive https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/24

Are they among those you tried?

Let me know if you liked them.
Personally I think Timbres of Heaven should suit your needs. Compifont supposedly has a better samples, but I still think ToH has the best sounds.
