I found an adaptation of Sonic Retro's Sonic Physics Guide for Unity on GitHub, however the creator states that "the current version is very broken, and don't use it for serious use until fixed." You can find that here: https://github.com/Candescence/Unity2D-Sonic-Physics (Note: the repository does not have a licence at all so I cannot say that it is open source.)
If you know C# and Unity's weird version of it (never used Unity) then I suggest making your own version of it. While yes, both of these do not have pools, I'm pretty sure those are pretty easy to code (if your game only has Sonic as a playable character.)
