Lumiva Legacy (SAGE 2021 Demo)

Controls have 'that thing' where it feels like you're in second gear, making jumps feel like you're either not going fast enough or you'll overshoot them. It's not going to be trouble for those who're already used to this Sonic-ie control scheme, which given where we are would be reasonable. The kick attack took some time getting down in terms of timing and placement, generally I found the mid-air spinning attack to be more effective. The game is quite forgiving with the damage though, got rammed by those little yellow wheelie scraps quite a lot but didn't die once, that all in standard mode.

What is really good though is the art. It is beautiful, the backgrounds especially. It has no bloom or filters or gradient lightning or any of the fanciness bigger studios would waterboard their pixel platformers in and that's exactly why I love the scenery here. It's just pixels. The music is also fantastic, I love the way you snuck in the leitmotif in both tracks.

I think you did a great job.
