Comment by 'GuilhermeBMotta' in item 'MegaMan Star Force EndWave'

Hey man I don't have time right now to write a proper review but I agree pretty much with the review already posted. I am a huge fan of Star Force and I loved this. Had a hard time playing in 2d since the only time I played Battle Network was when I was a teeny winy tiny kid but it worked out...

There's an upgrade to change your grip on walls and fall slower, try and find it on the first stage. It's a nice Rolling Stones reference (haha I know JJBA made if funy)

Solid demo. Great graphics, sprites have style, the character is cool and cute at the same time, the levels have good looking parallaxes, the game controls great and has controller support. The Mega Man X and Z influences are clear, but it's much more of a Z. I even replayed the game to find all...

Loving the demo so far! I noticed some bugs that I'll try and pass on: -An enemy dropped a health item that I could not collect no matter what. It eventually despawned -I didn't jump on the elevator after the boss, so I just slid up the walls and found a wall-less part of the map before the...

something wrong is waiting to happen here, with that spike placement right near the edge of the half pipe

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sample Sonic Beta'

The game has decent put together stages in question of assets, specially the backgrounds, but object placement/stitching, not so much. Level design is also decent, it doesn't disappoint much but feels unnatural for a sonic game sometimes. The first level relies too much on moving platforms...

Maybe uh....Disable player input after level is done? Specially considering there's a cutscene afterwards...But this does present an opportunity for very funny experimentation

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic Ascends (Demo)'

I have to start by saying that the graphics and music really do a good job. I like the rings and how they look like they're a 3d model (probably are), but a very basic thing which is pivot points/hot spots is off, basically, Sonic's sprite animations are not aligned correctly, and this goes for...

One thing I should also add. The control settings don't work until you get to the actual game. The menu still only works with keyboard And even after learning how to grab I am still not having much success getting past this boss.

Comment by 'GuilhermeBMotta' in item 'Carlos & Maria: Pearl Madness feat. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles'

Dear Carlos, I did also not figure out how to fight the boss. Naturally I thought the bomb would hurt me, but since your game is very heterodoxal and you do things your own way, perhaps putting an arrow pointing to the bomb wouldn't break the immersion or "classic" style of the game. So Far...

I found it in my SAGE folder preparing for my SAGE 2019 downloads and decided to play it. Right off the bat there's a problem with joypad/gamepad compatibility, assuming this is CF 2.5 it could have used the SimpleWorlds controller support There's a slight problem with stage endings, if they're...

What is your favorite Sonic handheld title?

Sonic Battle was my childhood. I remember holding the box of the game before going to school, playing it before, during and after school. I remember leaving the gameboy on for days on many instances because it was an used game and it didn't save (Sonic Battle uses a battery to sync information I...

The Perfect Music Style For Sonic?

Certainly Jazz and Latin infused music. I think those are the pieces of music that marked me the most out of all the soundtracks for Classic Sonic, other than those I couldn't fit into a genre

Also, seeing as you're using Fusion I recommend trying out the extension Ultimate Fullscreen as it's much better than the default. I don't know whether Space Kahuna or this is the most recent, but GMStudio is much better choice than Fusion.

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Rocket Brown 2'

Just like Space Kahuna, this game has good graphics, except it's not all 8 bit pixel art here, and it still looks good. The player controls well, if feels a bit like Alex Kidd, but collision and getting hit by some enemies and projectiles sometimes was really easy and with no way to avoid it...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Space Kahuna'

The art is great, the game has good playability, I do miss controller support for this kind of game, but it was bearable. I did have some difficulty with the gameplay and I think it can be improved massively still, it could be because I'm really bad at it, but everything that spawns, from...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic the Hackable'

It's fantastic. I really like the use of Sonic 4 themes in it. The game delivers exactly on what it wanted to, and that is level design. Even Stealth had some issues with the spike timing in Marble Zone Act 3, and I did as well but not so badly, I think it's a bit unfair and it might be easier...

SAGE 2018 reviews done by a guy who knows how to type

Interesting, I'm sure everyone appreciates the time you took to do this, too bad you didn't have the time to test my demo back in the expo. Just be more careful about this stuff, if I recall correctly someone was booted on discord automatically for pinging over 10 members with the same type of...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Kyle & Lucy (SAGE '18)'

The game offers a pleasurable experience of replaying levels and giving meaningful collectables that engage the player in exploring new parts of the level. The character designs are Animaniacs-like and will certainly catch the attention of anyone, not to mention the graphics are done really...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic Skies'

It's alright. The clean visuals and everything needed for a level is all there, and it's been put together really cleanly and nicely. The first level feels a little too empty though, lacking enemies and has very confusing paths at times. The second level was a lot better, specially the visuals...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic: Dream Plant (SAGE 2018 Demo)'

This game has a very interesting stage, with dreamy shades of pink and purple and cyan butterflies that give you rings. It does have a Sonic 1 style that keeps all 3 acts more or less samey without presenting many new gimmicks or difficult challenges, which I think could be improved on, but...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Lumiva Legacy (SAGE 2018)'

I have to admit I was always skeptical of this game because of Bingo's design, but I was surprised at how good the game played. The sprites are really pretty and the game runs very well. The gameplay seems polished enough that I didn't find any quirks or bugs. The music and sound effects are...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic Recharged - [SAGE 2018 DEMO]'

First thing off when booting the game is inconsistent key mapping in the menus, and then in the pause button, which is not the biggest of deals... There are some "downgraded" mania sprites, which I absolutely love, and secondary running sprites you can select, which are also a neat feature, if...

Comment by 'GuilhermeBMotta' in item 'Sonic & Tails'

Everyone is hyped for Sonic Chaos, but I have to say I liked this demo just as much if not a little more. It has the same things going as that game does. If you guys keep using your creativity and honesty this game will be great in the end. "Remember, kids, love with your heart, use your head...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic & Tails'

I had a blast playing it. It had character, some new badniks, a cute butterfly following you around, good music, and enjoyable levels. Don't get me wrong when I say this, but it definitely feels like a fan game and not like an original SEGA game, it reminded me a lot of Sonic Axiom at times with...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Petit Hedgehog - SAGE 2018 Demo'

The game has some decent level design as far as someone as me can tell during gameplay. It plays fine, but has some physics quirks and imperfections that get in the way a bit, specially slopes and inclines. It does get a lot right though, so it's fine. The "handlebars" on the Dino stage (sorry...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic Saga Alpha demo [SAGE 2018]'

The level featured in here has a lot of paths, which could be a good thing if kept consistent and a bad thing if monitors are more or less randomly placed. I'm not sure which yet it the case, but some of the monitor placing, platforms and level design was weird to me. The creator however makes...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic Alpha'

One could easily overlook the one stage in here as short depending on how it's played. I would still say it's still a bit too empty for my taste, lacking enemies and gimmicks used in creative ways; However, playing as Mighty I could see that the level had different paths, and even one underwater...

Review by 'GuilhermeBMotta' on item 'Sonic Advance Revamped: DEMO 2 (SAGE 2018)'

While I have never played the originals, it seems very consistent with the Game Boy both visually and auditively. The game has a heavy focus on character diversity and doesn't have a lot of stage content to offer, however so far the game seems polished enough and plays super well, it's capable...

Knuckles The Echidna: Burrow Trouble Demo 2018

This game proposes a solo Knuckles game. The intention is to bring out some of the character's elements and personality traits and incorporate them better to suit the solo campaign, through story or gameplay. Knuckles is now able to punch enemies, but it doesn't seem very effective...however...
