Hello, I am asking on behalf of my engine's creator, if the SAGE media kit is released under any particular licenses? The engine is libre, and the main game requires strict use of free libre licence art. I am converting the media kit into usable assets for my fangame, and the main game engine "open surge", has also considered using it, but the license: "Must be a libre license, such as CC0 or CC BY" for it to be usable. Could anybody provide an answer on this please?

We didn't have an explicit license attached to the kit (I don't think anyone really considers that outside of the open-source community), but we've decided that CC-BY should be usable here. There shouldn't be much of an attribution issue anyway, since they're SAGE logos; I would assume that most games that use them also mention SAGE 2022 in some way besides the logo, which would qualify as attribution.

Note that we won't actually be strictly enforcing "you must attribute it to SAGE" since that's never been an issue in the past. This is only for cases where you need a particular license for the media kit files.

Thank you for your response! Would you please clarify: are you using CC BY version 4.0? Is this license applicable to the entire media kit - the graphics and the jingle? Even though this is not an issue for most participants, we actually need this information.

Just confirmed it with everyone who contributed to the media kit. All items in the media kit are licensed as CC-BY 4.0.
